Drs. Angie and Chris Canales are your board-certified orthodontists in Gardendale and Alabaster — providing custom orthodontic treatments for the whole family!
Early Orthodontic Treatment
Age 7 is the ideal time for your child’s first orthodontic check-up — but that doesn’t mean treatment will start right away. Every smile grows at its own pace.
At Canales Orthodontics, we never rush into treatment. We take a conservative, personalized approach and only recommend pediatric orthodontics when it’s truly needed. Drs. Angie and Chris will take the time to assess what’s best for your child, explain what we see, and guide you with honest recommendations and clear communication.
The teen years are big for building confidence and self-esteem — and a healthy, beautiful smile can make all the difference.
With our team, teens receive personalized care with a variety of treatment options to choose from. Whether they prefer custom KLOwen braces (35% fewer office visits), clear aligners, clear braces or metal braces, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that fits their timeline, lifestyle and smile goals.
Orthodontics for Adults
Achieving a beautiful smile has no age limit! Whether you’re 21 or 71, orthodontic treatment can boost your confidence, improve your bite function, breathing and sleep quality, and empower you to put your best foot forward in life.
We make the treatment experience as convenient for you as possible. Start with an easy virtual consultation from home or on-the-go, then complete convenient virtual appointments to reduce office visits throughout treatment.
If you just need a smile touch-up, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan to fine-tune your smile.
Types of Braces
Your smile, your style, your choice. On your first visit, you can choose from custom KLOwen braces, clear braces, metal braces and clear aligners (Invisalign® & Spark™.)
With our non-custom treatments (clear braces and metal braces), you can opt for Same Day Braces to have your braces placed on the same day as your consultation!
Once you achieve your new smile, you’ll want to keep it for a lifetime! Wearing your retainers is how you make that happen.
At the end of your orthodontic treatment, you’ll receive custom retainers to solidify your results for a lifetime. You’ll be able to opt into our Retainer Bundle Program to protect your investment and ensure that if you lose your retainers, you’ll have a back-up on hand and won’t have to stress about ordering replacement retainers or paying full price.
Some smiles need a little extra help! In cases where the jaws are too narrow to accommodate all teeth, or there is a severe malocclusion (bite misalignment), Drs. Angie or Chris may include an orthodontic appliance in your personalized treatment plan.
Appliances help us achieve incredible results in the shortest amount of time. If you or your child needs an appliance, we’ll walk you through how it works, what to expect, and answer any questions, so you feel confident and informed every step of the way.
Surgical Orthodontics
Once the jaw bones have stabilized and clear aligners or braces would not be a sufficient treatment method on their own, jaw surgery may be necessary. Corrective jaw surgery is performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and typically completed in a hospital.
If you or your child requires jaw surgery, we’ll guide you through the entire process, from your consultation to the surgery, and through post-surgery treatment.
